18-02-2006 Bratislava - Rusovce

Rusovce is periphery part of Bratislava city. Now I can say, it's a village accessible with public transportation. Before I take off the bus, I knew exactly what I want - take some photos from the archeological location called "Gerulata". I had a map, but I still couldn't find that place!Confusing. At the end I connected to street called "Maďarská ulica" (Hungarian street) and I knew I've a good direction :-).I found Gerulata and I must state, it's like a house without a walls ;-) (no, it IS house without walls). I didn't make any photo of this place. Remember, exotic place name isn't guarantee of nice place. But there was beautiful castle, unfortunately under reconstruction (please somebody update it's web site!).Park around the castle is very beautiful (even in winter).

Some photos :

Tree have to be.

Piece of "Kaštieľ Rusovce" (Rusovce castle)

Castle park in the mist.

Can somebody tell me what is it?

That just interested me.

Castle park in the mist.

Castle park in the mist again.

The mist was everywhere and I take some experience from this journey. I think no one from Bratislavacan say that have not time to get there - when I came back to my flat in Bratislava it was about 9:30 in the morning.

12-02-2006 Bratislava - Way to Croatian branch

Croatian branch (Chorvatske rameno) is branch of the Danube river in Bratislava. I post some pictures I've made on my way there (trough Petrzalka). Branch alone is not on photos, becouse in this season is realy not very intresting and I don't like any of photos I've made there.
Photos :

Swan pair.

I don't know whether swans make permanent couples, but this photo say something like, "Be quiet, daddy is thinking"

Interesting tree and bushrope symbiosys.

Somewhere near the lake "Maly drazdiak" are these interesting trees ...

Beautifull girl on horse.

This beautiful girl allowed me to make a photo when she crossed the highway. Thank you.

Danube gravel hill

Danube gravel hills are located in Croatian branch near the boat dock. I climbed up to this hill to make some good photos of branch alone, but I fell short off. Maybe in spring.

Anyway have a nice day and post som ecomments if you want.Bye.

11-02-2006 Valtice

Valtice castle is very nice during summer - that's what people say (Specially about gardens). Here are some photos from Valtice in winter.

Tree near the raiway station.

29-01-2006 Bratislava - Swans in Petrzalka

This day I said, I'll not take photos. I just went out without camera to walk in Petrzalka part of city. Who know Bratislava, propably will knock on his head, there is nothing to see. I just wanted to breath the "fresh" air. Then I saw them. In Petrzalka there is a little river (width about 5 meters). Ice everywhere, except 50 meters, and there I saw about 100 (or more) of these swans. Nice. People likes them and they are going to feed them all the time.

I came back in the afternoon and (after fed them) I shoot some photos. Swans are nice, but a lot of them not very friendly.

Here they are :

28-01-2006 Bratislava - Pristav + Most Apollo

This trip was wery short, but intensive, it was about -15 degrees Celsius outside. Bratislava has two docks - new dock and old one. These photo are from near the old one. Yes, and the bridge is Apollo, the newest bridge in Bratislava. What do you thik about Bratislava citizens on saturday morning (cca 6:30 AM)? Do you think, they are dreaming sweet dreams? Definitely not, the are going to make photos under to old docks!Yes, I was standing at pier prepared to shoot some nice photo, then I realized, "I'm not alone!". There was about 3 other photographers waiting for sun rise.

Apollo and the old boat.

This boat is probably old enough, I could go to the board, no guards anywhere.

Another view on the bridge

Harbor bridge

Under the harbor bridge. Really cold, let's go home
What to remember : Cold is bad for camera and ever for FINGERS! Auuu.

21-01-2006 Bratislava - City views from castle hill

This album can be easily called "My first step with digital camera". On one cold saturday morning I take my camera pack and started out to Bratislava castle hill. I had no concrete idea about objects for my photos. Castle was closed, they opened it at 9.0 a.m. Waiting for sun rise - one of the nicest activities I had ever done. That day sun rised little bit later couse of mist - this kind of mist is typical for Bratislava - it's industrial mist.OK, let's see pictures

"Most SNP" - Bridge from castle hill

I like this picture, bridge tower is almost untouchable.

"City in the morning mist"

As my buddy said - there is place for meditation. I called it internally New York in 1950.

"Svata Alzbeta" - Bronze St. Elizabeth in castle's garden

This photo is for my grandma. She will never see it on internet, but i will print it for her.So sorry, it's for all of course. It's long story about roses in her hands, maybe you know that.

Some recapitulation for this photo trip : Polarization filter is good thing ;-)
