29-03-2006 Bratislava - SNP bridge at sunset

These days Donau river upper reach. It's probably only a bit before a flood, on some places river is already out of banks. But everythings seems to be under control till now, nobody panic. Clock turns 1 hour forward, so I can see sun when I come from work! That's great, I hope it survive. Today I saw from the bridge nice sunset and I decided immediately to go out and shot some photos. Unfortunately, till I came with camera, sun was too low on a horizont and over clouds, so I've made best I could.

"Most SNP" - new bridge shoted from older bridge (downstream).

City center from the Petrzalka's bank of river (almost, shoted from old bridge too).

Unfortunately, sun was already very low, I imagined this photo with last sun lights touching buildings surface ...

Shopping center in the Petrzalka.

This view interested me on my way back to home. Shoted on higher ISO, forgive me the noise.

That's all for today, have a nice days everybody.

28-03-2006 Bratislava - Petrzalka around my flat

This morning I was walking around flat where I live. So nothing special, just a bit photos from Petrzalka.

Clouds

I know, over-photoshoped. That was purpose. I found some shapes in this clouds, and I'm curious what you can see there. Please, Please find 5 minutes and write what you see. Therefor I turn up saturation and contrast - to highlight shapes. Enjoy.

Building in front of sun

Hm, this was just experimental photo, I always wanted to shot these smokestacks, but I culdn't find good place. I don't say, this is the best place. Just a experiment.

Smokestacks

The lights are not very good. But I like these smokestacks. I'll try to do the same in the evening.

Great Bratislava's Tourist guide!

I bought this book a week ago, just for 99.-Sk ! And it's a great book. Not only a lot of facts about Bratislava, but a lot of tips for trips in Bratislava and around (around in this book means 100km and more ;-) ).

There is a lot of photos too. I know Bratislava centre quite good, but when you know something more about monuments and buildings (e.g. when and why they have been created), it's much more intresting. (I don't like history at all, this this is amazing!)

Have fun anyway...

19-03-2006 Kozarovce - Krivin

This week I and my father went out on a little walk to place called Krivin. It's situated on the bank of river Hron near the village called "Psiare". Krivin is old Keltic fort situated on top of hill. Years ago there were maded archeological research, and it's archeological location marked on the map.

Good information is that spring is coming, but most of this day was sun behind the clouds and fog remains until the afternoon. The main purpose of this journey was snowdrops - as we explored almost whole hill, they just started to grow.

Some pictures :

Moss on the rock.

During climbing up and focusing on "not fall down" there was a lot of these plants.

I could swear, that these berries are Java beans.

But truly they are not. I like this picture, if you don't, simple skip it.

Snowdrops

We found some islands of these beautifull flowers, but not a lot of them. The ground is still frozen.

Totem with the head.

Under the Krivin hill there is a camp on the bank of the river. Tramps sometimes camp there on summer, hunting bisons and torturing indians :-)

And this is myself sitting on the rock

At the top of Krivin

As I said, spring is coming, it will be nice to make photos in the nature. Good light to everybody.

26-02-2006 Zilina - Samuel's baptism II

Baptism photos continues...
After photo processing I'm posting new photos from baptism ceremony, which happened a week ago in Zilina.

One interesting note : When I came inside the chuirch, my lens misted over. Humidity and temperature hop did their job. I was afraid, that I'll not be able to make any photos. At the end, I had to wipe my lens with a handkerchief! (People from Nikon company skip that sentence).

Photos:

Waiting for a priest.

The priest.

The priest was very tolerant to me. It was young man, and looked to be a good man.

Waiting for a fire.

It's a part of ceremony. The priest light a fire and baptism mother bring it. (Save boy's light maybe) Baptism mother have to tend about boy's progress in all levels. Samuel's baptism mother is Katka, she hold the candle.

Water on the head.

Another part of ceremony. Samuel is symbolicaly vanished off his sins, as the St. Jan happened
about 2000 years ago. For more info go to study christian's mystique.

I'm fine

Well, done, I'm satisfied ....

Posturing with baptism mother.

Samuel loved this part as you can see.

Don't make him blind!

I paid attantion not to flash to Samuel's face directly.

Grand father.

Grand father is very happy, he love Samuel so much.

Happy daddy.

Everything is fine ... :-)

26-02-2006 Zilina - Samuel's baptism

My nephew Samuel had a baptism this weekend! Really great action, but I was asked to make some photos from the baptist. It was really hard for me, I love to make nature photos and therefore I'd made "people photos" never before. My uncle said (great photoprapher) that it has some advantages - you have a lot of food around ;-). So that's really true.

Back to baptism ceremony: My nephew Samuel received baptism's name Samuel (surprising) in the little church in Zilina city. Samuel is really sweet guy, as you see on photos. He was quiet even if the priest poured water on his head. I can say only - it's our boy.

I must note, that only couple of photos I provide here, other are still processing and I'll post them as another blog entry.

Photos:

Here he is, our sweet guy Samuel

And of course, his parents - Adam (my brother) and Zuzka (his wife).

What are you going to do to me?

You must be clean for ceremony of course ...

As you can see, he loves this part of the day. His grandmother (she's gonna kill me if she read this) tidy up his things ...

Everybody loves him

In this case his another grandmother (my mam) show us, how to hold baby.

Grandfather and geat-grandfather

Discusion on the top of level. I have no idea what are they talking about - some plans with this innocent baby?

My favourite part of the room

Another favourite part of the room.

So at the end I wish to Samuel all the best to his life.
